History
Though Tinamba has always been a small town, it was an essential supply point for farmers and businesses from Nambrok to Newry. When the station opened in 1887, crops were the most common agricultural product in the area, before dairying took over in the early 1900s, and extensive stockyards were added to the station complex. Though the station closed in the late 1970s, the town continues to be a hub for the local agricultural community.
