Heyfield is a sleepy little dairy and timber town 206km east of Melbourne within East Gippsland Region. As the southernmost part of the Snowy Mountain Ranges it is considered the gateway to the high country.

It is an ideal stopoff point when travelling to either the snow or the sea both of which are with a few hours drive. While  in town why not meander along The Gippsland Plains Rail Trail whith white stone paths that are perfect for a ride either on bike or horseback. Take a detour down the  Lions Club's International Path soaking in the migration history, past the skatepark and resting in the Apex Park Playground. A visit to Lake Glenmaggie where you can enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, sailing, and watersking is well worth the 5 minute drive. 

Heyfield Railway Hotel has a recently built 9 room motel that is centrally located in the heart of Heyfield. Each room features modern designed ensuite with complimentary toiletries. Also available in each room is a toaster, tea and coffee making facilities, flat screen TV, a two seater couch and desk area. There is a small hanging space and an iron and ironing board or hairdryer are available upon request. Our family room also features full disability access. We also have a deluxe double that contains an in-room spa bath  A complimentary breakfast basket is provided on arrival.
